Privacy Policy

How we collect, use and protect your information — and the confidentiality that applies to your academic work.

Last updated: October 2026Applies to students and visitors in the UK, USA and elsewhere

This policy explains what personal information Beyond Campus collects, why we collect it, how long we keep it, and the rights you have over it. It applies whenever you use our website, send us an enquiry, or work with us as a student.

We deliberately ask for very little. Your academic material is confidential by default — that commitment is set out in section 4 and is the part of this policy we take most seriously.

01Who we are

Beyond Campus (“we”, “us”) provides academic, dissertation, exam and career support to international students studying in the UK and USA. Our website is beyondcampusglobal.com.

For the personal information described in this policy, Beyond Campus is the data controller. That means we decide why and how your information is used, and we are responsible for it.

If you have any question about this policy or about your information, contact us at support@beyondcampusglobal.com.

02Information we collect

We collect only what we need to understand your situation and support you:

  • Contact information — your name, email address, phone or WhatsApp number, country of residence, and the times you prefer to be contacted.
  • University and study details — your university or college, course and module, study level (foundation, undergraduate, postgraduate or doctoral), and the deadline you are working to.
  • Enquiry forms and messages — anything you type into our enquiry form or send by email, WhatsApp or during a consultation: the support you need, your deadline, and the reasons behind it.
  • Academic material you choose to share — assignment or dissertation briefs, drafts, research proposals, reading lists, data or supervisor feedback.
  • Consultation records — agendas, notes and agreed actions. Calls are recorded only where you have agreed in advance.
  • Technical and usage data — IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, referring site, collected through cookies and analytics tools.
  • Payment information — processed by our payment providers. We do not store full card numbers on our own systems.

Please do not send us sensitive information — health data, religious or political opinions, racial or ethnic origin, biometric or genetic data — unless it is genuinely necessary for the support you are asking for.

03How we use your information

We use your information to:

  • reply to your enquiry and recommend the right type of support for you;
  • arrange, confirm and remind you about consultations;
  • deliver the support you have asked for, and keep a record of what was agreed so any mentor working with you has the context;
  • process payments, invoices and refunds;
  • send you updates about your support, where you have asked for them;
  • send you occasional information about our services, only where you have consented and you can stop it at any time;
  • keep our website secure, diagnose problems, and improve our services;
  • comply with legal obligations, such as tax and accounting record-keeping.

We never sell your personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers.

04Confidentiality of your academic work

Everything you share about your academic work is treated as confidential by default. That includes assignment and dissertation briefs, drafts, research topics, proposals, methodology, datasets, supervisor feedback, consultation notes, and the fact that you are working with us at all.

Specifically:

  • Access is limited to the team members and subject mentors who need it to deliver your support. Everyone with access is bound by a written confidentiality agreement.
  • Your documents are held in access-controlled systems — not in personal email accounts, personal drives or personal messaging apps.
  • We do not share your work with your university, your supervisor, your classmates, or any other student, unless you ask us to in writing or we are legally required to.
  • We do not publish your work, and we do not use it as a sample, portfolio piece, case study or marketing material without your written permission.
  • If your research topic is sensitive — for example it involves human participants, clinical records, or commercially restricted data — tell us at the start and we will apply additional restrictions agreed with you.

We may retain records where the law requires it, or to establish, exercise or defend a legal claim.

06GDPR and UK data protection compliance

Beyond Campus complies with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the Data Protection Act 2018, and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR). If you are based in the EU or EEA, we also apply the EU General Data Protection Regulation.

We apply data protection by design: we minimise the information we collect, restrict who can reach it, set retention limits, and review the third parties we rely on. Our data protection contact is support@beyondcampusglobal.com.

If you are unhappy with how we handle your information, please contact us first. You also have the right to raise a complaint with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

07Your rights

You can ask us at any time to:

  • confirm what we hold about you and give you a copy of it (access);
  • correct anything that is wrong or incomplete (rectification);
  • delete your information where we have no legal reason to keep it (erasure);
  • limit how we use it, for example while a dispute is resolved (restriction);
  • give your information to you, or to someone you nominate (portability);
  • stop using it for direct marketing, immediately and free of charge (objection);
  • withdraw a consent you previously gave.

Requests are free. We normally respond within one month, and we may ask you to confirm your identity first so that we do not disclose your information to the wrong person.

08How long we keep your information

  • Enquiries — up to 24 months after our last contact with you, if you do not become a student.
  • Student and payment records — for 7 years after your support ends, for tax and accounting obligations.
  • Academic documents and consultation notes — deleted 12 months after your support ends, unless you ask us to keep them longer or we must by law.
  • Backups — purged on a rolling cycle, normally within 90 days.
  • Analytics data — retained for 14 months, then deleted automatically.

When information has no further purpose, it is securely deleted or permanently anonymised.

09Who we share information with

We do not sell your information. We share it only in these circumstances:

  • Subject mentors — the specialist supporting your subject, who sees only what they need and is bound by confidentiality and data-processing terms.
  • Service providers — hosting, email, document storage, video calling, payment processing and analytics, each under written data-protection agreements.
  • Professional advisers, insurers and regulators — where we are required or permitted by law.
  • Law enforcement — where we have a legal obligation or a lawful request.
  • Business transfer — if we are reorganised or acquired, in which case this policy continues to apply to the transferred information.

Where information leaves the UK or Switzerland, we use a lawful transfer mechanism such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

10How we protect your information

We use encrypted connections (TLS) across our site, encrypt information at rest, restrict access to the smallest group of people who need it, require multi-factor authentication for our systems, and train everyone who works with student data.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so please do not send us passwords or account credentials. If a breach of your personal information ever occurs and it is likely to affect you, we will notify the ICO within 72 hours and tell you what happened and what we are doing about it.

11Cookies and analytics

Our site uses three kinds of cookie:

  • Essential — needed for the site to work, such as remembering your cookie choice and keeping forms safe.
  • Analytics — set through Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics 4, so we can see which pages and guides are useful to students.
  • Preference — remember choices such as language or region where offered.

You can accept or reject non-essential cookies through our cookie banner, and you can delete or block cookies in your browser settings at any time. Blocking essential cookies may stop parts of the site from working.

12Students under 18

Our services are aimed at university students. We do not knowingly market to, or collect information from, anyone under 18. If you are under 18, we need consent from a parent or guardian before we work with you — please contact us before sending any information.

13Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our services or the law change. The new version is published on this page and the “Last updated” date above is revised. Where changes materially affect how we use your information, we will also tell you by email.
